The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) honored the Little Rock Water Reclamation Authority during NACWA’s 2024 Utility Leadership Conference in Buffalo, N.Y.
The Utility’s three Water Reclamation Facilities, Adams Field, Fourche Creek, and Little Maumelle, each received the highest recognition of a Peak Performance Platinum Award for no National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit violations. Adams Field was recognized for 12 consecutive years with no violations, Fourche Creek for nine consecutive years with no violations, and Little Maumelle for five consecutive years with no violations.
“These awards are a testament to our knowledgeable employees and a continued demonstration of our commitment to protecting the community we serve and the environment,” said Jean Block, CEO of Little Rock Water Reclamation Authority. “Our entire team is devoted to regulatory excellence.”
Peak Performance Awards
This year NACWA recognized 510 treatment facilities at 196 of its member Public Agencies for outstanding levels of compliance and performance related to their National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit. A NPDES permit is required for facilities to discharge into waters of the United States. It outlines requirements that ensure discharges do not harm water quality or human health.

NACWA CEO Adam Krantz commended the recipients, noting: “NACWA is proud to present this year's Peak Performance Awards to the extraordinary member utilities whose unyielding dedication to providing reliable clean water services has enhanced the environment and quality of life for millions across the country,” he said. “This esteemed recognition underscores their commitment to providing outstanding service, and the vital role clean water utilities play in serving their respective communities.”
